REC 4: Apocalipsis (2014) [HD]
Horror
--- Subtitled ---
In the conclusion to the zombie-packed horror franchise, intrepid TV reporter Ángela Vidal is rescued from death and taken to a floating quarantine facility, but she and her fellow survivors still face a tide of virus-infected mutants.
This follows:- Quarantine - When a news crew decides to trail a brave fire-fighting team, they never suspect that the first call for help they respond to that night may be their last. Now they're trapped in
an apartment complex sealed off by the government. With no way of escape, they find themselves surrounded by frightened residents who are infected with a deadly mutant virus. What happens next is only known because of the footage they left behind.
- REC - From Executive Producers who brought you Quarantine, comes the movie that inspired the terror.
A beautiful TV reporter and her cameraman are doing a routine interview at a local fire station when an emergency call comes in. Accompanying the firefighters to a nearby apartment, the news team begins recording the bloodcurdling screams coming from
inside an elderly woman's unit. After authorities seal off the building to contain the threat, the news crew, firefighters and residents are trapped to face a lethal terror inside. With the camera running, nothing may survive but the film itself.
- REC 2 - The highly anticipated sequel to one of the scariest films of all time, Rec 2 picks up 15 minutes from where we left off, taking us back into the quarantined apartment building where a terrifying virus runs rampant. What they
find inside lies beyond the scope of medical science - a demonic nightmare more terrifying than they could possibly imagine.
- REC 3 - Clara and Koldo's wedding unfolds through the lens of a video camera that captures their beautiful ceremony and the festive reception that follows. But the camera also bears unblinking witness to the shocking reality of chaos and horror
that ensues after a virus spreads through the reception, transforming the wedding guests into something inhuman, and the newlywed couple into a terrifying fight for their lives. Separated amid the mayhem, the newlywed couple discover the true meaning of
the vow, "'til death do us part."
Storyline: Ángela Vidal, the spunky young television reporter that entered the building in 2007 has exited with the swat team. Little do they know that she carries the seed of the strange demonic infection. She is taken to an oil
tanker miles off shore which has been especially equipped for the quarantine... Written by michael mcsween
[CSW] -2.6- The co-director of [REC] and [REC] 2 is back for this slightly above average entry in the much admired horror series. Though this one is nowhere near as good as the first two, it doesn't make the same mistakes as the run-of-the-mill [REC] 3.
However, one similarity to the third one is that the found footage angle is also abandoned here, and I'm still not convinced that this was a good idea. The movie tries to tie the previous installments together by having medical personnel bring the
survivors of [REC] 2 and [REC] 3 on board a large ship for unknown and possibly nefarious reasons. I thought that it was entertaining, appropriately gory and fairly exciting. The final twenty minutes or so generate some good, old-fashioned white-knuckle
suspense. But, but, but....The film is just an okay, conventional, safe and well made "infected" horror movie. That undefinable pizzazz that made the first two installments so memorable is long gone. I was never bored by [REC] 4, but I'm sorry to say that
I believe the [REC] series may finally have run out of steam.
